Signs your exhaust may need to be replaced

Do you feel a vibration in the steering wheel or foot pedals? It could be a sign that the exhaust has become rusted. Water can collect in the muffler and pipes on short trips and rust the metal over time.

If you hear a his or popping noise when the engine is running, this could be another sign of exhaust system damage. This could be a sign that the exhaust pipes are restricted and cause high backpressure in the system. Sometimes you also may see discoloration near the exhaust ports.
